Majority of farmers in Africa are very poor although they go through the hassle and tussle of making sure the corporate world has food to eat. Farmers in africa are exposed to a number of challenges in their farming career of which includes flood or bush fire ravaging their produce. Also farmers at the end of their farming career end up broke and left with nothing to go home with or depend on. Also even though farmers in africa are poor, they are still required to pay huge sums of money for their medicals and medications. For this course was Agri Aid International birth, to cater for and to bear, assist and help to solve the numerous challenges farmers goes through in order to make food stuffs available in the market. Agri Aid serves to provide farmers an insurance cover to help them in times of natural occurrences like floods and bush fires, so that farmers can at least recover from their lose. Agri Aid also serves to provide farmers with health insurance cover where a farmer and his family can have rapid response care and good medications. Also farmers upon retirement from their farming business can have a lump sum of money that they can depend on from what we call farmers pension.
Also the world is going back to being greener, the case of Africa is quite different, as industrialisation and natural resources discovery has set the continent of Africa to deforestation making farming unattractive.
The issue on ground is farmers in Africa no longer see farming as attractive as before because of the very few cases i highlighted above. Farming is a lifestyle, farming is a passion but how can someone with this passion work effectively if all these obstacles and hindrance are in his path.
The African continent and the world at large could be a better place if farmers needs are met and that is what Agri Aid International seeks to provide.
