All Purpose Flour Making Project

About Solution

All-purpose Flour Making Project will be implemented by Healthy Food Processing company in Rwanda and Uganda from August 2020 to July 2022. This business project aims to eradicate hunger and malnutrition among 1,800,000 people in eastern Africa by 2020 through processing cereals and make 900 tones of nutritious flour per month in two cereal processing centres which will be opened in two countries. This project has been through after seeing that About 22 million people in East Africa need help to secure their livelihoods and acquire adequate food. Nine million children are in need of nutrition assistance. Children are the worst affected, with their health and development drastically impacted. More than 15 million children in Ethiopia, Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi, Kenya, South Sudan and Somalia are struggling to get enough to eat. 25 million people, including 15 million children, need humanitarian assistance in East Africa(FAO,2017). when nearly 40 per cent of children in sub-Saharan Africa grow up stunted due to chronic malnutrition as the impact of food insecurity and shortage, they lack the capacity to learn and contribute to society. This project aligns with this challenge because we want to make food available for all children in East Africa by making and selling affordable, cost-effective and nutritious flour and we do expect to reach 1,800,000 children by two years in Eastern Africa by 2022.
