apprenticeship rating platform that provides an alternative to internships

About Solution

Our solution to the unemployment crisis in the country is through the use of apprenticeships as a better alternative to internships. Internships do not do enough in equipping new recruits with the skills they need to be successful in the marketplace. Internships also do not meet the demand for talent in the informal sector where 84% of jobs are being created annually. The only way to solve the unemployment problem in Kenya is to use a model that works both in the formal and informal sector while equipping entry level talent with the skills they need to thrive in the workplace. Our blockchain enabled apprenticeship platform will offer a unique opportunity for any company big or small to offer apprenticeship programs and apprentices to access these programs.

We will be working with employers and training institutions in order to ensure that individual employers can be able to train their workforce themselves using our platform. If an employer has a talent deficit in his company he can start an apprenticeship program on our platform while getting access to training institutions, trainers and facilities to ensure that the training is not only carried out effectively but also efficiently. Since there are government incentives such as apprenticeship rebates and reimbursements. We will be working with governmental organizations such as the National Industrial Training Authority(NITA) to ensure that the reimbursement process is well documented and all the rigorous requirements followed to the letter to ensure fast and easy claiming of benefits. We will be working with companies in both the formal and informal sectors ranging from construction and manufacturing apprenticeships to engineering and finance apprenticeships. The apprenticeships will run for a period of between 1 to 4 years of continuous training and resultant certification allowing for career progression in relevant industries.
