circular plastics recycling

About Solution

Clothing is currently un-recyclable. As such, >99% of it ends up in our landfills and oceans, as microfibers.

This is sub-optimal.

Clothing cannot be recycling because they are made up of mixtures of blended yarns, such as cotton and polyester. Cotton and polyester make up 95% of all materials used to make clothing.

ambercycle has developed a way to use new chemistry to extract polyester from clothing. The polyester we extract is used to make new yarns. The leftover cotton is then easily recycled into new yarns as well.

ambercycle has support from large fashion brands, like H&M and others, to commercialize this breakthrough technology.

It is only a matter of time before it changes our relationship with plastic, and in doing so, improves the world.
