SOLUTIONS TO UGANDA'S KARAMOJA DRY AREAS .
The north eastern districts of Uganda in Karamoja region are very dry and they are becoming more and more every year.
In efforts to reduce effects of hotter days we have been supplying tree seedlings to districts of Kween district , kapchorwa and other districts around the dry north west part of Uganda.
As a bachelors degree holder and a supplier who have been supplying the seedlings under ministry of water and environment of Uganda, I've noticed that the seedlings we have supplied are far less then the tree cover needed to change the climate of karamajongo region .
We have supplied bamboo to be planted in river beds of Mt Elegon to reduce more soil erosion and trees .
The region needs more trees / man made forests which can help in changing the climate of the region and also fruit trees and environmental friendly crops in order to reduce poverty in the districts .
Right now I've 200 thousand seedlings of eucalyptus , 100 thousand seedlings of grevillea rubosta , 200 thousand seedlings of pinus carebaea 50 thousand seedlings of bathdavia nysca all of which could help in changing the climate of the karamoja region but orders from the government are still low .
My vision is seeing this dry region changing into a wet region with plenty of food and trees but am constrained by capital.
