About Solution

Biomedical wastes treatment and management still problematic despite the big efforts made by the government during recent years in Mali. The selective sorting of infectious wastes is seldom done and end up finally in same circuit as households wastes finishing their way in illegal dumps were wastes pickers and their children scavenge.

Improper and ineffective ways of plastics and old tires recycling have been sources of pollution and flood recent years in Bamako.

Energy consumption in Mali is dominated by the residential sector which basically relies on biomass. Wood and charcoal are mainly used as cooking or heating fuels, exposing their users to toxic emanations leading to upper respiratory tract diseases.

Mali imports 100% of its petroleum consumption which is in constant increase due to economic growth and the increasing demand of the population, unfortunately these products contained 100 times more sulphur than international standards polluting the atmosphere and exposing population to cancers and upper respiratory tract diseases.

We aim to reach and provide for a large number of healthcare centres and a large proportion of people, biomedical wastes treatment and management services, smokeless carbon black charcoal and less sulphur content and cheaper petroleum products(gasoline & diesel) through implementation of an efficient biomedical wastes treatment facility by microwaves technology and plastics, rubber and old tires recycling plant by pyrolysis technology.

Our project consist of implementing an efficient biomedical wastes treatment facility by microwave technology and collection of plastics, rubber and old tyres recycling plant using pyrolysis technology. The infectious wastes are gathered in unauthorized dumps where children and waste pickers operate being source of illnesses such as HIV,hepatitis, etc. The types of disposal used in the sanitary centres are incineration and even dumping emanating and generating toxic gases and substances,to that we can add the plastics bags and old tires dilemmas.
Our solution will solve these problems by buying and collecting biomedical wastes and then bring them to our facility for treatment by microwaves then, recycling along with collected plastics(PP, PE, PEHD, PVC plastic bags, etc) , rubbers and old tyres in the nature, from landfills and businesses by pyrolysis process to obtain carbon black, steel wires and hydrocarbons. Those kind of wastes are out of the normal recycling chain which is an opportunity to be taken.
