Tanzania import over 3.5 million metric tonnes annually of wheat for baking products spending over USD 225 million. this has triggered the Sokoine University Entrepreneurs Cooperative (SUGECO) that is working with over 4,000 farmers to venture in an alternative solution of introducing OFSP to replace wheat in the bakery industry and through its food lab worked on the value chain with intent to improve production, utilization and market accessibility of the OFSP products and contribute significantly in youths and women employment.

We believe this is an innovative idea that will promote accessibility of urban and rural communitie's health and sustainable food relevant to the Mohammed Bin Rahid innitiative requirements and therefore competent enough to make this application.
