Floating Islands is a natural tool for restoring and beautifying water-bodies. FIs mimic a wetland like effect to clean the water. Floating Islands are platforms which float on water and have plants planted on top of them. The roots of these plants eventually extend into the water. Friendly bacteria called bio-films come and attach to the Islands. Together the plant roots and bio-films uptake nutrients from the water thereby cleaning it.
