Forest Guard is a smart sensor monitoring system for forestry, which can be installed to detect wildfires and illegal logging activities in forests, rest zones, forest borders' electric pillars adjacent to cities.

As a resident of Armenia, I can bring some numbers. 150000 trees are being chopped in Armenia annually. Thousands of trees are being vanished from forest fires.

As I am an alumni of GIST incubation in the US, some numbers from my research in the US. Only California suffered $5.1 billion dollars of losses during last 10 years. During last two Years 10 million and 8.8 million acres of forest were burnt in the US from wildfires. In California the wildfires mostly are being caused from the fall of electric lines.

This causes children breathing problems, many people become homeless, some even die, and what is the most important, the climate is being changed. According to today's data, after 100 years we won't have any forests with the current vanishing rate. Every 7 seconds an equivalent to a football field of forest is being vanished on the Earth. This is affecting on agriculture, on cities, on our health, on the nature ecosystem. We must develop solutions to stop or slow down these processes.

Forest Guard is a 2-times-low-cost solution, compared with the competitor monitoring solutions, which also is 12 times energy-efficient, sends an emergency signal 200 times faster, just in 3 seconds! So this is a solution which can be installed in problem areas and cost very cheap,, and work very effective, to save the nature ecosystem and protect people from fires, also to avoid financial losses and deaths.

By slowing down the climate change process, we can also help to prevent climate migration, which is becoming a real challenge, and the G20 leaders are focusing on it much, trying to find solutions.

Forest Guard is fully scalable and aims to reach 7th, 13th and 15th SDGs
clean and affordable energy, life on land, climate action.

We just finished the pilot program in one of our regional forests, in Stepanavan, after 6 months piloting. Now we are working on making the industrial prototype. Our Nature Protection Ministry is highly interested in our product. The prime minister of RA included our project in the 100 achievements of the last, 2019 year. In case of making the industrial sample and giving mass production, the government aims to buy the system and place in Armenian forests.
