Ibn El-Bitar Project

About Solution

Climate change is causing noticeable effects on the life cycles and distribution of the world’s vegetation, including wild medicinaland aromatic plants. Plant secondary metabolites are unique source for pharmaceuticals, food additives, flavours, and industrially important bio-chemicals. These groups of plants should not be left as they are potential sources of bio-molecules and nutraceuticals.
In my region, many species of medicinal and aromatic plants have become endangered. developing conservation strategies as well as practice of cultivating medicinal and aromatic plants can avert the impact of climate change. One of the main objectives of my project is the protection of the regional natural resources in medicinal and aromatic plants through its cultivation and practice beekeeping at the same land to contribute also in the protection of the regional bees because the bees feeding on medicinal plants have a greater likelihood of survival, and transmit the information to the rest of the hive.bee are necessary in agriculture and consequently in the food security.
The first step of the project is the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants.
