Integrated system for supplying water from MOF and Silica

About Solution

Briefly, our solution main purpose is to provide liquid water using the property of fog harvesting using modern technology of metal-organic frameworks and the well known and sufficiently present material silica. We use these certain materials as they are specialized by the property of porosity and the large surface area. Our solution's materials are placed in several areas at night to absorb humid in the air by large quantities. Then we move to the second and the most essential step, the water releasing from our materials by using high temperature. We made our own requirement where we will avoid using any non-renewable energy sources. Therefore, we will use solar energy and the way is using evacuated tube that uses the difference of pressure in addition to the solar layer where the sun lights will be concentrated and will help the evaporation of water between the pores then the third step will be the condensation where we will place a cool container. The container will be layered by aluminum that will give it it's cooling by reflecting the light rays. These results water that will be able to provide the plants water and therefore will solve the challenge of providing sustainable and healthy food for all. Another main part of our project is to add pure Talcum powder and charcoal to the desert soil to be able to add nutrients and therefore making it applicable for planting. The planting will be applied by using the water released from the silica gel where it will contain silica properties that are already related to the Earth's soil. This will result in soil ready to be planted and the planting will be from the water we produced. To sum up, we made an integrated system that supplies water for agriculture and a transformer of desert land to planting soil.
