Luapula Coding Hub is a club dedicated to develop software solutions, web and mobile applications, to improve the services in rural Zambia. We also offer training and provide resources for those who are interested in learning how to code for free. The goal is to come up with solutions to the problems facing the community and to reduce the ICT illiteracy levels in the rural Zambia.
According to the UNDP report, ICTs in eradicating poverty is undeniable, particularly for developing countries. The development of ICTs, especially in remote areas enhance people’s economic opportunities and access to financial resources, allows people to access information on government policies, social services, health care and education. The only challenge in Sub-Sahara Africa is the level of illiteracy in rural community’s people are unable to utilize ICTs because of lack of knowledge about.
