Women in refugee, conflict and low resource settings die due to complications related to pregnancy. These places dont have ultrasound machines to use with health care being a challenge. The traditional ultrasound machines are very expensive and energy intense to use in such settings. Hence M-SCAN devices that use low power and are portable to use in the refugee settlements. At 16 mothers dying every day in Uganda to complications related to pregnancy, this is unacceptable and we are making bold moves to have these complications detected early enough and mothers intervened on early to have their life and that of the babies saved.
