With the release of carbon from the burning of wastes pushing the climate system into uncharted territory, which has major consequences to the functioning of the ozone layer. As for us in Sierra Leone, most of the wastes are being burnt after they have been disposed in dust bins few days back. Of which these wastes can be transformed into very useful products that can be used. The biodegradable wastes can be gathered to form a rich in nutrient manure, this manure can be used by local farmers who don’t have enough money to buy the imported fertilizers for their farming process. Since those imported fertilizers are expensive and can also act as pollutant, this idea might help the farmers in term of spending more money on fertilizers and will reduce the quantity at which these wastes are burnt after they have been used. If we use the biodegradable wastes to make organic manure and recycle the non-biodegradable into another useful products, this will help in the reduction of the large amount of carbon released into the environment.
This idea can minimize the rate at which people burn their wastes, because if they think of the importance of recycling their wastes, that will let them think of recycling the wastes they gather in their everyday life. Recycling plastics can be a very good one also, if you talk a walk down on the street of our country almost 70% of the dirt on the floor are plastics from the sachet water we drink.us.Above is a dust bin full of plastics and empty cans that has been used.
