PASA Project

About Solution

According to the report of the Ministry of Agriculture published in 2017 with the support of its partners, including FAO and WFP, More than 75% of the population is in food insecurity in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The same report said: the causes of this situation include wars, especially in eastern of the country, epidemics, lack of access to agricultural finance and credit, and low level of agricultural production.

Unfortunately, the Ministry of Agriculture and its partners, including the local farmers do not really pay their attention to food losses which is also one of the major causes of food insecurity.

This programme aims to reduce food insecurity by achieving these specific objectives:

Reduce the rate of wastage of foodstuffs along food chains;
Limit the ecological footprint of food systems;

Set up a coordination system among the actors and stakeholders ( Civil Society, UN and Government).
