In today’s world, just like the days past man continues to look for more comfort and less expenses. We continue to seek new inventions that save us money and stress. Humanity’s search for comfort lead to invention of paving tiles and bricks made from concrete and cement,
(one of the world's highest contributor to the carbon footprints) for roads and buildings construction, due to the high temperature in Sokoto state, there is a need for heat absorbing and durable tiles. The use of plastics in both developing and developed nations has risen far beyond and ignorable level, hence its management has become both capital and intellectual intensive. The plastic wastes which contribute more than 75% of wastes across the world is already a threat to the climate. Mostly found in our dumpsites in Sokoto and everywhere else. The phoenix tiles which would be made from waste plastics, specifically LDPE plastics provides this, paving tiles that do not absorb water and therefore lasts longer, the plastic components also makes it a coolant thereby suitable for temperate regions, specifically, Sokoto state in northwestern Nigeria.
The business is a wastepreneurship initiative that intends to turn waste products into economically viable products such as plastic wastes rather than remain an environmental threats. We intend to collect plastic wastes from various cities across Nigeria starting with Sokoto state. These plastic wastes are to be collected by our waste collectors and would be sorted accordingly by them. The sorted plastics would proceed to the plastic shredding machine to be reduced into smaller sizes for easy melting. The shredded plastic goes into an heavy duty melting drum with a pre installed burner and mixer where it would be melted into a viscous black liquid and sharp sand would be added, then thoroughly and vigorously mixed. The mixture is then transferred into moulds of desired shapes. In less than 2 hours the plastic bricks are ready
