Forced migration is on the rise and expected to escalate. The humanitarian response of giving is not sustainable, and doesn’t restore dignity to displaced communities. It is critical to establish the basis for a sustainable response, including opportunities for the forcibly displaced. For this to happen it is important we start with education that builds empathy between host and refugee communities, and an appreciation for our impact on the planet’s ecosystems.

Project Rangeet is a mobile app delivered train-the-teacher platform targeted at primary school aged children, aligned around the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Coursework is educationally sound, multi-language and categorised into three umbrellas, which are further grouped into modules. A module has 6-8 lessons of 50 minutes each.

SELF: For children to thrive, they need to stand on a foundation of mindfulness, self-confidence and self-reliance.

SOCIETY: Only then will they influence an inclusive society, mindful of the forces that divide us, and embrace diversity; understand the various forms of bullying and the role boys play in promoting a gender agnostic society.

SUSTAINABILITY: On this foundation, children learn to value all life on earth:the importance of trees, the economic value of nature and strategies to regenerate our planet.

Children learn to value and protect themselves, embrace all humanity and treasure all life on earth.

Content is delivered via a mobile app, replete with instructions enablinganyoneto empower children around these values, track and map content delivery/funds spent, and measure impact on children at scale. The app recognises and rewards teachers, children, and their communities with tokens for teaching Rangeet classes, co-creating content and promoting the platform. These tokens could be redeemable against goods and services supported by donors.

Children and teachersdon’t have access to relevant and thoughtfully developed Social Emotional and Sustainability coursework, which delivers high levels of engagement and enthusiasm.Administratorsdon’t have access to tools that identify and measure impact at scale in a timely and unbiased manner.Donorsdon’t have access to timely/transparent reporting on funds deployed, ROI and impact.

By solving the aforementioned problems, Rangeet spawns future leaders who will become champions of political, social and climate justice, while providing livelihoods for those who deliver course content, forming a virtuous cycle. The future of all life on earth and our interconnected relationships depend on many things; one of which is empowering the next generation to become superheroes of self, society, and sustainability.
