Defragmented and Disorganized 14 mini-bus seater for public transport, cash based payment systems with a delay to deliver, Lack of communication channel in case you forget luggage. Rising cases theft, women harassment and reckless and carelessness which has claimed many lives. Traffic congestion because of disorderly has caused trade to loose millions on money.

Lack of real instant and statistics accurate data on the causes of major and minor road accidents on roads. Most of cases data obtained from eye witnesses is doubtful because the real cause that initiated the incident is not known.

Access to transport in Uganda is by terminal to terminal point where there is no public transport information app apart from Public Taxi Uganda

Solution

We install a Gps tracker technology in 14 mini
seater vans sharing location between passengers, drivers and vehicle owners/associations. The app has support which provides Communication between passengers, drivers and vehicle associations. The tracker shares location between all app users, driving speed counter, routes of each vehicle, driving behavior of each vehicle.

Business model

Our model is simple, we sell device (gps tracker) to vehicle owners at a fixed price and monthly subscription of 2$ every van rolled on our platform. Public taxi Uganda App is free for public since it provides public transport information for everyone.

Technology

The app is developed using android Java, React native as backend.

Gps tracker which gives real time and accurate information on speed and location.

Firebase database gives real time tracking.

Case studies

Our major case studies based on countries that already have existing public transport domain information system include Rwanda, Kenya, Egypt, Tunisia.

In this study we looked at how apps have provided public transport system information about departure, booking, routes, arrival and availability.

Employment opportunities.

We target to employ and create more than 5,000 jobs to both educated and non educated in the areas of supervisors, support contact drivers, designers, marketeers, system analysis, sales agents and many more across the country.

Advantages of public taxi Uganda app.

The system is decentralized in nature that each region can use it independently but all records are received at the headquarters. Active public transport vehicles is known and can be differentiated from non active vehicles.

The same technology can be used in other government agencies on fleet management and quality control.
