About Solution

We live in a world where 54% of the population lives in cities and by 2035 it is predicted to be 84%. In Mexico according to the 2010 census, almost 80% of the population (97.6 million) lives in cities, of which almost 40% (36.6 million) live in urban poverty.

One of the causes of the urban population explosion, which affects Mexico like the rest of the world, is that of human movements due to migrations, refugees and displaced persons. In 2015, 65.3 million people left their places of origin in search of better living conditions, forced to move due to violence, lack of opportunities, natural disasters and / or unable to meet their basic needs; being of the major causes of overpopulation and integration challenges in cities, a situation of current humanitarian crisis and of utmost urgency. These types of migrations are not carried out in an articulated, orderly, informed, or safe manner, generally with irregular settlements with a high degree of marginality and social lag in the cities of Mexico and Latin America.

Currently, although there are different sources of information on the phenomenon of migration, in the world and in Mexico in particular, there is no direct and reliable registration system that captures the habits and changes of residence at the time they are made. As a consequence, although different methodologies have been carried out for their estimation, the construction of the indicators, strategies and possible solutions are limited by the nature of the available data.

To address this situation in Mexico and other countries, it becomes highly relevant to answer the question “how to create liveable and inclusive cities?”, With practices and strategies that allow generating the best conditions of equality, security, information and links with opportunities for everyone. “Ruta eseOese / S.O.S. Route” points to migrants, refugees and displaced persons as the factor of change for the positive human movement, which fosters prosperity and inclusion in cities, articulating information with current migratory flows.

“Ruta eseOese / S.O.S. Route” it's an online information platform that helps to effectively connect and articulate the actors that offer opportunities, products and services, with people in a state of migration who are looking for it, to improve their lives.
