SunCrafter has created a zero-carbon energy generation technology: By applying our own IP protected remanufacturing process onto decommissioned (early-loss) solar modules, we are upcycling them into extremely robust plug&play solar generators.
Our easy-tech solution is fixing two major sustainable development problems at once: the provision of affordable, renewable energy for all and the avoidance of unnecessary solar waste, thus the responsible use of limited resources. This is important pioneering work as the global energy transition is increasingly turning into a waste management issue with 80 million tons of decommissioned solar to be expected by 2050. By upcycling solar panels into extremely simple and maintenance-free systems, the SunCrafter team integrates circular economy into the electrification challenge and disrupts the way off-grid energy access is delivered.
Thanks to the complexity-cutting technology, the sun-run systems need no technician or know-how for their installation and maintenance over their entire lifetime, a critical factor for mass adoption. In terms of adaption to climate change, they are suitable for any off-grid area, as they are water
and weather-proof and can withstand floods, heat and storms. SunCrafter is aiming to provide flexible off-grid energy access for everyone as well as alleviating energy poverty worldwide, especially in remote and vulnerable regions and disaster areas. By re-purposing decommissioned solar modules, SunCrafter cuts costs, prolongs lifetimes, reduces electrical waste and acts in the realms of the circular economy.
