The GetWay will be aone stop shopthatwill bridge the gap between local and international businesses. This will be achieved by offering the locals a platform to sell their goods and services globally,without having third parties involved in decision making nor dictating what products or whowould beviable to trade with the international markets.
The GetWay will address the inclusive trade challenge by increasing ICT literacy in rural areas because it was and continues to be the main driver for Kenya’s economic growth from 2000-2010. It was also responsible for roughly ¼ of the GDP growth.
The organization will also venture into teaching the locals about E-commerce as there is not much shared knowledge on this in the rural areas. Most locals do not trust E-commerce due to either bad experiences, ignorance or lack of knowledge, therefore, it will be the organization’s goal to ensure that enough information is disseminated to assist locals run their businesses online. We are in the tech era and the organizations aim will be to ensure that as the world changes every day, and with every tech upgrade, so will the skills and knowledge gap in the rural areas be improved and sustained.
The GetWay will ensure that no one is left behind and it is time for rural communities and the whole of Africa to catch up to the world and be on the same level playing field. This will in turn give rise to more jobs, knowledge cycle, better healthcare facilities, greater infrastructure, logistics solutions and advance the livelihoods of those living under USD 1.25 per day.
