Value addition machines with the unfair advantage/ unique selling proposition of; working with a gear system and multipurpose; (one machine of cereals, is used for all categories of cereals such as maize, millet, sorghum etc) and has three power use e.g. solar, fuel, and bio gas (can be used every where); free advisory services and after sales services.
This solution is in line with different players recommendation in Uganda, East Africa, Africa and the world at large for instance in June 2018, the world bank report on the status of Uganda’s agricultural sector recommended that with agriculture employing 70% of the country’s population, there is need to close potential performance divide through commercialization and value addition and developments in agricultural technology and ICT offers great opportunities to further transform livelihoods and the economy.
The value addition machines shall be processed and manufactured by YUfT Metal Works at an expected cost of sale of 1,389 USD (our machines comes with a solar, embedded fuel tank & electricity plug in) and shall be sold to small scale farmers either at full pay, credit, or lease. This will be implemented in the second quarter of 2020.
Taking an example of maize, in Uganda on average a small scale farmer produces over 2000 Kgs of maize and earns 277.8 USD (0.1389 USD/ Kg) if unprocessed but with our machine; from the produce of 2000 Kgs of maize, the farmer will be able to earn 1,444.4 US Dollars.
