Trade has a rich history, starting from the barter system being replaced by the mercantilism in the 16th and 17th centuries, the 18th century saw the shift towards liberalism. The begging of the 19th century saw the move towards professionalism which petered down by the end of the century. Now the world is moving towards Inclusive Trade, what is inclusive trade some might ask. Wikipedia defined inclusive trade as a sustainable business that benefit low income communities and also contribute to poverty reduction. Jack ma, (2016) sees inclusive trade as a way to bring small and medium sized enterprises more into global economy. (APTIR 2013) Says trade is Inclusive if all people can contribute to and benefit from international trade.The notion of Inclusive Trade has taken hold in the policies of many national government and some of these policies focus on women and small and medium sized enterprises, much more attention  needs to be paid to the types of policies that ensure the opportunities and benefits from trade are widely spread and those that do loose jobs are not left behind. Trading inclusively has lots of benefits Annabel Gonzalez (30/09/2015) in her publication talked about how countries have benefited from Inclusive Trade, countries like China that tripled its share of world trade after joining the W.T.O in 2001, helping cut its poverty rate from 36% to 6% in 2011, Ethiopia exports of cut flower to European union helped open the door for employment in Ethiopia this  created pathway out of poverty for many families. Lastly what we should know now is how to make Inclusive Trade effective especially in developing countries. And here are some of them.

* Investing in technical and vocational education and training can help upgrade the skills of labor force to meet the demands of the private sector

* Harmonizing regional policy through legal and regulatory reform can give domestic and international investors access to larger market

* Trade facilitation logistics and border management helping countries integrate into global value chains through targeted reforms and investments

* Entrepreneurship programs have proven to spur new sectors especially in service industry.
