wealtHUB

About Solution

wealThub is an initiative with the aim to produce affordable food for rural/urban communities, provide modernized farming space for youth to engage in stress free farming of many kinds of food and vegetable. The initiative also seeks to train, equip and empower unemployed, women and able young ones to make positive wealth out of farming.

As a teacher and social entrepreneur, I was exposed to the high rate of malnutrition (kwashiorkor, marasmus, and stunted growth), many health disorders (diabetes, hypertension, stroke, etc.) among women and children and high rate of unemployment among youth and young ladies in rural/urban communities in Volta Region, especially in Lolobi and North Tongu districts. Poor rainfall cause by climate change effects, discourages farmers especially the young ones in farming to seek greener pasture in cities. All these challenges called for the birth of wealThub to help find sustainable solutions, advocate and accelerate adequate human growth.

The initiative will accelerate the attainment of some of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) such as:

SDG 1 – No Poverty, SDG 2 – Zero Hunger, SDG 3 – Good Health, SDG 4 – Quality Education and 5, 8, 10 and 12.

Due to poor conservative/storage habit among the farmers in these districts, there is always a high shortage of foodstuff and vegetable. There is also a limited existence of industries in these districts causing high rate of unemployment among graduates, making these areas the poorest in the region. The Lolobi and North Tongu districts are rapidly expanding through residential and commercial development. wealThub is targeting community members (market women, families, etc.) schools, restaurants and hotels, and international markets

As the need of food and vegetables in these districts (Lolobi and North Tongu) grows so will the operation of wealThub. As a startup our revenue and profit will be generated from the sales of our productions (food and vegetable). Rita and Selorm have a total of Ghc 6000.00 to invest in this project (land acquisition, maize farming and arrangement for fishpond). We need additional financing for infrastructure, equipment and products (seeds, irrigation, machineries). The project is managed by a team of five (5) leaders.
