About Solution

The world currently is working to attain the UN Sustainable Development Goals but climate change has been a core focus of all. This is because whatever we attain now will be of no importance if the life on the earth will extinct in few years to come.

There are visible effects of the climate change like change in weather patterns, prolonged drought, floods, ice melting, changes in seas levels and increase in temperature in many areas of the world.

In our solution which is at pilot stage we aim to tackle the problem of climate change in combination with plastic pollution. To us we see in-order to move in the low carbon economy we must focus in circular economy in which materials can be reused and recycled instead of making new materials again.

Our initiative will use these materials as raw materials to make the composite timber materials namely Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) which have both characteristics of timber and plastics. These materials over the greater range of benefits like durability, portability, anti-termite, water proof, fire retardant not corrosive and highly flexible.

These materials can be used in many areas such as portable houses that can be used in human-relief camps such as in flooded areas, migrants’ houses, in the drought areas such as in the deserts areas since they offer flexibility in temperature change. Other areas include in packaging industries, forests area to replace traditional wooden beehives, floor deck and other applications that use traditional timber.

Our solution will solve the problem of climate change and plastics in following ways.

-Reduce Land and Marine Plastic pollution

Plastics can find new route to the production process and decrease dumping on land and sea.

-Reduce Carbon Footprint from Carbon Based Waste

The waste such as carbon waste has high CO2 and Methane foot print which results into global warming.

-Reduce Utilization of Fossil Fuels during Plastic Manufacture

To make plastics it needs burning crude oils which results into CO2 emission. This project will mitigate this.

-Reduce Pressure on Forest Products such as Timber

Making the new and durable composite timber will mean reduction in use of natural/planted forests for timber.

-Encourage Circular Economy and Low Carbon Economy

The idea which one waste become input in other industry leads into circular economy.
