According to reports, one of the major problems faced by farmers & artisans is lack of access to adequate credit. We are building a peer to peer (P2P) micro credit systems focused of funding them directly in partnership with telecommunication institutions, farmer & artisan friendly insurance institutions, accounting & taxation experts and marketing firms to support beneficiaries throughout their value chains.
With adequate funding and appropriate systems in place, the farmer and the artisan can be out of poverty.
Currently we are providing the proper accounting & record keeping systems through the partnership with my accounting firm, AGE Accounting & Taxation to over 500 farmers & artisans in the Volta Region of Ghana. This is helping them and also promoting the formalization of their businesses.
AGE Accounting & Taxation is also part of Artisans Alliance (http://www.artisanalliance.org/member-network) and with their support, we are designing training programs for our artisans. This will increase their productions and give them better understanding of their businesses. It will also reduce waste, reduce poverty & hunger.
Our module will be the first of its kind in Ghana, to have a P2P micro credit focused on farmers & artisans.
