Bioplastic for sustainability

About Solution

Our solution is aligned with the challenge of combating pollution caused by conventional plastic. The main applications of this biomaterial will be for single use packaging and sustainable product packaging.

Bioresin developed by Biopolix is an evolution of over 25 years of biotechnology research that began at the University and continued after the retirement of the principal researcher.

In 2016, Luisa Vendruscolo and Claire Vendruscolo, founded the startup Biopolix. It is located at Supera Incubadora in Ribeirão Preto
SP, Brazil. This incubator has been recognized as one of the Top 20 University Business Incubators at UBI Global World Rankings in 2019.

In late 2019 it was possible to produce the bioresin by the extrusion process. The biomaterial developed by Biopolix allowed the extrusion production and it a huge differential. It means that the today's manufacturing industry of conventional plastic can use this bioresin to produce bioplastic without the need for machinery upgrades.

The bioplastics market is growing and new solutions are emerging day by day. However, various materials are scalable or use large amounts of food crops. With the experience of Dr. Claire Vendruscolo in the use of Biotechnology for biomaterials it was possible to obtain a product up to 100% biodegradable by the extrusion process.

It is well known that by 2050 there will be more plastic in the oceans than fish and Biopolix wats to help reverse this sad prediction. Today, we are looking for partners who invest in scale production and application in sustainable products.
