Dundiza addresses the misconception and misguided beliefs of financial savings and low internet connectivity of young people and women living in marginalized communities of Tanzania especially in Arusha and Kilimanjaro Regions. In Tanzania and Africa in general, most young people and women are misguided by the belief that in order for them to save money for a better future, then they need to have a lot of money or earn a lot of money in order for them to save money. This is because of lack of reliable and consistence public innovative cloud-computing software platforms that give young people and women in Tanzania the power to securely save their money and manage their own money using their own mobile phones.
Dundiza is addressing the above challenge by collaborating with youth organization and micro-financing institutions to organize capacity building and community engagement programs on digital literacy and financial savings to young people and women living in the marginalized communities of Arusha and Kilimanjaro Regions of Tanzania.
The capacity building and community engagement gives young people and women in Arusha and Kilimanjaro Regions the power to use their own mobile phones to extend access to digital financial saving services and the ability to access internet connectivity with the collaboration from existing Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) using the Application Programming Interface (API) in order to eradicate from poverty, achieve gender equality and improve economic growth providing them with the knowledge and opportunities on digital literacy.
This offline (USSD) and online collaboration technology between Dundiza and MNOs is very crucial in enabling young people and women in Tanzania to extend access to both internet connectivity and digital financial savings by the allowing young people and women in marginalized communities to access digital economy while reducing the existence of digital gap between the people living in rural areas and the ones living in urban areas.
