Green Venture

About Solution

The growing utilization of plastics in industrial and consumer applications, combined with increased consumer awareness surrounding solid waste recycling, has led to an increased demand for recycled plastic products. One of the fastest growing types of collected plastic materials for recycling are polythene bags and polyethylene terephthalate ("PET") from post-consumer beverage and water bottles. Green venture will capitalize on the opportunities in the creation of plastic recycled building materials: through recycling division and upcyling .

The Company will create a plastic collection and shredding station with a recycling facility located in Arusha, in Tanzania (currently there are no companies making construction materials from plastic wastes in Tanzania since the technology is new in the market but we will be competing with the cement construction materials made by local manufacturers). Through the use of shredding and extruder machines Green venture initial capacity will be 1000 products per day which will recycle about 7000kg per month of plastic will be recycled which could otherwise end up on the environment, and green venture will utilize post-consumer bottle and bags feed stock presently collected in Arusha and later expand to Kilimanjaro. The Company will use almost all of its recycled material in construction purposes and later expand to plastic lumber for furniture and construction. The Company currently has commitments available from customers to purchase some of our products eg. Construction material supply for residential premises and schools .

Green Venture has employed more than 100 people part time as plastic wastes collectors and has 6 people working full time in creating building materials from plastic wastes.

GENERAL INDUSTRIAL OVERVIEW

With the population of about 55million people Tanzania construction industry have shown a gap between the demand of durable construction to the level that is coverer to date according to (HABITAT FOR HUMANITY IN TANZANIA), https://www.habitat.org/where-we-build/tanzania

“the housing deficit in urban Tanzania is estimated to be 1.2 million units, of which 36% are in Dar Es Salaam. Moreover, income levels of most households in Tanzania are too low; 90% of population can afford less than $45 and 68% can afford less than $23 on housing per month (Housing Market Study, Tanzania, 2012). Financing, though relatively increasing, is not affordable to most households. It is estimated that only 3% of the population can afford a mortgage” as green venture we are aiming to break this and make durable houses that will be affordable even to this low income earners by making building products such as bricks, paving blocks and roofing tiles from recycled plastic wastes which can be bought by the 97% remaining percent of Tanzanians who cannot afford to own houses due to huge costs of cement products .
