Malaria is a life threatening disease. In Uganda, 320 people die of malaria every day women and
children are the most vulnerable because they are the greatest risk of infection and severe disease.
Malaria caused by a parasite called Plasmodium falciparum. It is transmitted to people by the bite of
the female Anopheles mosquito. These mosquitoes bite at night, usually between 10 pm and 5 am.
They do not make noise.
Malaria is not contagious. You cannot get malaria through contact with an infected person. You can
only get malaria from the bite of an infected mosquito
Nakivale refugee camp is a tropical location covered with bushes and that led for its being a major factor
of mosquitoes being spread in this area and the effectiveness of malaria increase day by day due to that.
Nakivale and other Ugandan refugee communities have no enough health centers and the ones which are there have no better services to patients (inaccessibility to medicine related to diseases)
These do not serve the community effectively in the way that people can get enough treatment for
malaria and other diseases
Problem and Context.
Nakivale consists over 119,587 refugees, a sub Saharan region with tropical diseases such as malaria
which is a killing and dangerous disease in refugees and vulnerable communities and host communities
Both women and infants are the most affected people from malaria on which in Nakivale we have 50%
of women and 27% of children under 5 years with anemia , each year 435000people worldwide die
from malaria,55% in refugees and vulnerable communities and this affect next generations in death
That is why
HUMANITY AGAINST MALARIA as part of solution came up with a sustainable solution of conducting
outreaches campaigns about malaria awareness in refugees communities (schools and refugees
centers ) and we came up with the innovation of herbs repellents plantation in communities (families
and other communities) From the herbs repellents we manufacture , body lotion and sprays
as mosquito repellents with Natural Green repulsion as brand

we do this to help vulnerable women and the entire communities living in nakivale and we would like to create more impacts in other refugees areas and worldwide.
