poverty reduction through soybeans production

About Solution

GW Legacy Farms is an existing farm located in Tamale, Northern region of Ghana. The farm does mix farming but we are considering soybeans for this project.

The company has identified a short fall in the production and supply of soybeans as against the greater demand of the beans. The producers of the soybeans are mainly the smallholder farmers who have no capacity to produce in large quantity to meet the growing demand of the soybeans.

We have therefore put together a competent team to work in collaboration with the smallholder farmers to increase the production of the soybeans in order to meet the growing demand. GW Legacy Farms will provide inputs and services to farmers, mostly women to cultivate the crop and when they harvest, we buy the soybeans from them and supply to our clients.

Normally, stallholder farmers will like to keep the products and sell them later in the following year so as to maximize their profits. It’s in the light of this, we will be creating savings account for them so that, when we buy from them we will pay their money into their accounts to be attracting interest so that they can access it at any time they want.

In as much as we are increasing the production, we are not compromising on quality, so we are therefore procuring a thresher to thresh the soybeans there-by making the beans clean. The thresher, after threshing our soybeans will be used to thresh the grains and beans of other farmers in the communities we work, there-by creating another revenue stream for the company.
