The Tea Accelerator Platform (Hospitality & Consumer)

About Solution

Tea Accelerator Platform (Hospitality & Consumer)
"A platform (under the main company: Silver Tea Leaf) that disrupts the common norm of the tea market to provide a better value and impact for the Tea Farmers, Hotels, Restaurants & Cafes (HORECA), Hospitality & Culinary Schools and Tea Consumers starting in the Middle-East."

Challenges:The Tea Market size is $40.5 Billion in 2018 and the second most consumed beverage after water. Since 2014, we have been studying the Tea Market and evaluating its potential for growth and impact on different stakeholders directly affected by tea:

  • No basic or minimum standards put in place for the HORECA (Hotels, Restaurants, Cafe) industry globally to follow when preparing tea, which is one main reason why these industries would trust a tea brand over a farmer's product, due to the lack of knowledge and understanding of identifying high quality teas.

  • Tea has not been taught to students who have studied and graduated from most hospitality and culinary school around the world, especially the importance of supporting young raising farmers and its impact on major issues like climate change. As a result, it negatively impacts the supply chain of the tea market, and being under-skilled to cope with the changing and demanding consumer.

Addressing Challenges:
In the past four years, Silver Tea Leaf has been interacting with different stakeholders (small tea farms, hospitality sector, tea consumer, etc) to add value and create a flow of continuity and sustainability. Through this platform, we do not only wish to increase the tea consumption, we want to train and educate all the stakeholders, who are impacting the tea market to better use the teas and enjoy the unique qualities obtained from these teas. And through that, it shall create a unique market and sustainable growth for young tea farmers and an improvement into the ecosystem of the Hospitality sector in the region.

HORECA (hotels, restaurants & cafes):

  • Improving the quality of their service by providing high quality & well selected tea products & tea equipment.
  • Re-skilling employees in tea through training.
  • Supporting Small & Medium size HORECA to innovate with tea (by introducing exceptional cuisines and beverages) & sustain in the market.

It will create major changes in the field, where more job opportunities will be created to fill in new vacancies, will have proper outline and supply chain process put in place to enhance the the quality of product selection, cut cost and better services

Hospitality & Culinary Schools:

  • Outlining the educational guidelines for tea classes to be up-to-date with local & global trends.
  • Developing the tea curriculum based on case studies & learning experiences from the industry.
  • Providing potential job opportunities for students in HORECA to work as Tea Sommeliers.

An on-going, up-to-date tea educational curriculum and classes that allows the schools to be relevant with the latest trends in the industry as well as providing greater opportunities for students to find jobs in the field.

Tea Consumers:

  • Well protected by assuring health & safety in consuming teas in HORECA, who are obligated to properly prepare and serve tea to their consumers.
  • Access to high quality, single-origin, single-estate teas that pleases their palates’ expectations.
  • Continuous social awareness on the well practice of making tea.

Educating them through our exceptional events and workshops in tea with the collaboration of our stakeholders. Will be able to enjoy a proper quality & dining experience with tea, knowing that there are proper health & safety regulations put in place, that will assure their health & wellbeing and teas are well crafted to match their taste expectations.
