Waste plastic to energy (fuel)

About Solution

“Plastic pollution is not just an oceans issue. It’s a climate issue and it’s a human health issue,” said Claire Arkin.Plastics have become essential components of products and packaging because they’re durable, lightweight, and cheap. They generate heat-trapping gases at every stage of their life cycle.

Aquatic and wild lives are threatened as they mistake chops of plastics for make which will lead their death or in a more severe case bioaccumulate and biomagnify in the food web. We intend to do our quota to save our environment by volunteering manage waste plastics generated in Nigeria, by converting waste plastic to fuel.

Nigeria in terms of energy generation is deficit as it solely depends on "black gold" as the only viable alternative energy sources.

No adequate facility to manage millions of waste plastic generated in Nigeria.

Pyrolysis technology is one of the leading edge technology in the field of polymer energy study. The technology can use continuous process and industrial production to convert high molecular weight polymers into high value added energy products with high quality and high energy density which are easy to store, transport and use. Pyrolysis process realizes continuous feeding, oil output, and solid output discharging. The whole production process is carried out under continuous airtight conditions, greatly improving industrial production efficiency, ensuring the safe and stable operation, Undertaken on normal pressure and oxygen absent conditions and oil gas and solid outputs generated from pyrolysis are cooled to safe parameter, automatically discharged and transferred. The whole process is monitored and controlled by PLC system, truly realizing human machine interaction and safety protection functions. After being conveyed into the transitional bin from the feed device, waste plastic is continuously taken into the reactor with specified catalyst. Fuel oil combustible gas and solid fuel are obtained after normal pressure and low temperature pyrolysis reaction. In condensable combustible gas generated from pyrolysis is scrubbed and used as fuel to heat the pyrolysis system. The fuel gas after combustion is cooled and purified through comprehensive treatments, and emitted in compliance with EU and US standards. The high temperature flue gas generated from heat supply unit is mixed with recycled hot flue gas to supply heat for the production line, in order to reduce fuel consumption and exhaust gas emission. The scrubbing in condensable combustible gas is sufficient to supply heat for pyrolysis production and no additional fuel is relied on, truly achieving energy conservation and emission reduction.
