The main objective of this project is to design a wave energy converter device which is able to transform sea wave energy into useable electric energy.In this report, there will be a brief introduction on the background of wave energy converter devices and wave properties. On the design goal section, design requirement will be explained. Next, the conceptual design and the embodiment design of the prototype of Wave Energy Spheres will be described in this report as well. Moreover, analysis and simulation based on an experiment setup will be included, together with the cost estimation and market plan. Lastly, the limitation and future improvement for the device will be discussed.In conclusion, the experience gained in this final year project is valuable and provide better understanding on a wave energy converter prototype design and development.
