We are developing a solar device to source safe drinking water from thin air and are on a mission to make water accessible to everyone. Our product is an 'aquapanel', a smart and modular panel which sources safe drinking water from the air. It uses a thermo-sensitive hygroscopic material to capture the water-vapour from the air, and abundant solar thermal energy to power the process of release and conversion to liquid water. The device thus remains simple, easy to use and has almost zero operations and maintenance costs. Each panel can serve a household and can also be scaled to serve a community requiring thousands of litres per day. Its also a connected device and capture micro-weather data and water quality data for increased transparency.
